Hackathon @ Harwell Oxfordshire (H2O)

03rd October 2023

3rd & 4th October 2023

Seventeen participants from six countries attend the Hackathon organised by the TEATIME Action in the Advance Training Centre at the Mary Lyon Centre, MRC Harwell. They worked in pairs or alone on a problem set by TEATIME, led by Action member James Brown from the University of Lincoln, UK. Fuelled by fresh cookies and pizza there was a wonderful and collaborative atmosphere. At the end they shared and discussed their solution. The award for best solution was given to Luis Perdigao whose pixel-based method was developed using the fast.ai library. The most innovative award was given to Juul Vossen and David Thonnard who developed a landmark-based approach based on graph neural networks (GNNs).
